James Borrodell Brown

Has been enjoying photography since he had a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Camera at age 9. Before mobile phones and facebook made amateur event photography so popular and common, James was always the one taking photos at friends' birthdays and parties.

At Uni, James started thinking about photography a little more seriously, buying an old Nikon F3 (as big as a tank) and spending time in the college darkroom, briefly resurrecting the college photographic society. Learning with film—rather than digital—was a mission but a superb lesson, although since going digital in 2008 it's been like starting all over again.

James loves to learn new tricks, and prefers studio work to outdoor, but enjoys recreating a non-studio look. Nope, he doesn't understand either.
